Online education has a flexibility that enables those enrolled to learn and earn, never missing a meeting, a class, or time with families. Working professionals are motivated to learn and to earn online degrees essential for on-the-job advancement, particularly single mothers with children who might have found it impossible to move ahead two decades ago. Gone is the stress that attending night school used to create. And online learning is still in its infancy! Leaders in the field are now looking at how education could use the mobile platforms—mobile phones, PDAs (personal digital assistants), tablets, MP3 players, handhelds, laptops, among other possibilities.

The impact of the internet is so much on education that in today’s world you may need not to get into the four walls of a class before you are well educated. the internet has helped the educational sector a great deal by making learning much easier and interesting, and it is also been seen as the basic source of fast and reliable information, the internet is also know to have improved the educational sector in terms of online education, which is about receiving lectures online at the comfort of your house and also having valuable discussion with your group mate without the need of going to school to meet. it also gives researchers a channel where there work could be seen around the world, it helps to promote the sales of books through the online store. The net has moved the focus of school into the better way they could attract and serve their student therefore making the website more user friendly. Internet is without doubt major force of improvement and a positive impact on education.

The internet is been considered as a tool used to explore and generate more knowledge on any subject, students today consider the internet as a major tool for their studies and therefore make’s use of it for their work on a daily basis.

The impact of internet on the educational sector has helped it to grow and improve with a wide range in its activity and operations, this improvement does not exempt the major players in the sector. As a researcher or a professor the internet has provided a very suitable channel to show case your material and let all other fellow researcher access and value your research.

 The internet provides both the lecturer and also students with multiple choice of information and details that are up to date, Lots of students and professionals today are clinging to use the Internet. In the United States of America, this nation specifically recourse online education because of the advantages and support it grants to people taking it.

Research Methodology

The research method used for this report consists of both primary and secondary method; the secondary method involves the use website materials (articles) and journals. With the aid of internet facilities in the campus I was able to conduct an effective research, I further use magazine in the library although it was not an adequate source of information but it gave me and insight on how to carry out the research need to achieve the objective of this report.

While the primary research method was carried out using quantitative research and its data collection was also carried out by using questionnaires for a random sample. the reason why I choose to use random sampling is because its best to help me determine and answer the research questions that was asked earlier and to compare and see which group of students uses the internet the most and for what purpose. The sample was carried out among university students.

25% of the undergraduate students use the internet mostly for social networking and online shopping.

11% of the student uses the internet for watching movies, listening and downing songs movies and other things.

64%of the student basically uses the internet for school work only, researching and find materials that are suitable for the academic work and also download related materials
